Even in 2019, women in India still continue to remain one of the most vulnerable sections of our society. While a lot has been done, much work remains to empower them - economically and socially. It is a well known fact that educating and empowering women and girls has a ripple effect leading to social as well as economic growth of families and communities. INOX recognises this and has implemented several initiatives to uplift women in an attempt to help them become independent and self-reliant.
We have lent financial support to the Red Brigade - an NGO located in Lucknow, which focuses on teaching self-defense techniques to girls/women, so that they can protect themselves from sexual assault. The contribution would be used for conducting 100 conferences and 100 self-defense sessions.
We have extended support to Urja Trust, an organisation that provides shelter, rehabilitation, vocational training and education to homeless young women. They host workshops on subjects such as money management, mental health, gender awareness, etc.
