Unpacking Doors: Lift doors do not drag one over the other.

Stacking Doors: When handling, be sure to place doors face to face.

Drilling for Hinges: Drilling platform must be smooth and free of loose particles. The protective peel coat acts as a magnet for dust and loose particles.

Drilling for Knobs and Handles: Remove peel coat when drilling. Metal filings may stick to the peel coat resulting in surface scratches. Mark the doors back side for the correct hole location. Using a high speed bit, drill from the back side through the door substrate and then through the metal using WD-40 lubricant on the drill bit. The door substrate will act as a jig to insure the hole location. Start the hole with a bit smaller than the final size. For example start with a 1/8” bit and graduate to a 3/16”bit. Be sure not to force the bit through the stainless steel. This will result in distorting the door surface. When the final hole size is completed, carefully remove any burs with a utility knife.

Attaching Knobs and Handles: Do not over tighten hardware. Over tightening will dimple and distort the face of the door.

Glass Inserts: Use the supplied gasket material to hold the glass in place. Machining allows for the glass to be cut square, radius corners are not necessary. The exposed raw MDF can be easily painted with latex paint.

Inserting your own door panels: Wipe stainless free of dust or loose particles. Double check your door panel size before cementing in place. Contact cement is the recommended adhesive. Follow the adhesive manufacturers instructions.

Scratches: Fine hair type scratches are best when left alone. Most minor scratches can be removed using a Scotch Brite pad. Avoid any circular motion and be sure to follow the grain direction.

Sharp edges: Any sharp edge can be removed with a plastic laminate file. Carefully file in one direction. One or two passes is all that is required. Be sure metal filings do not transfer to the face of the door.

Protective Peel Coat: Once the installation is complete, remove all remaining peel coat. Clean and polish all components with a stainless steel cleaner and polish. (Examples: Stainless Steel Magic or Stainless Steel Appliance Polish.) These types of products are available at your local hardware store or home center. No abrasive cleaners are to be used. Use a soft cloth and follow the manufacturers instructions.

Cleaning and Maintenance: Use the same process as when removing the peel coat. This process also eliminates the transfer of fingerprints. Repeat as necessary.
